NASA:宣布月球蕴藏大量水
NASA宣布在月球表面发现水冰，融化后可以作为饮水或者榨取氢的原料。10月9日，NASA卫星LCROSS撞击月球南极的Cabeus环形山，通过扬起的尘埃和碎片来分析是否有水存在。LCROSS计划科学家Anthony Colaprete说“我们不是仅仅发现了一点，我们发现了相当多（的水）。”根据测量，在撞击点附近20米方圆以及喷出的方圆60-80m的尘埃中，含有大约100kg水。科学家还在分析LCROSS发现的水和印度卫星Chandrayaan-1发现的水之间有无关联。如果没有，他们希望弄清楚Chandrayaan-1发现的水会不会缓慢流向极地。
